About West Edmonton Tax Service
We are mobile tax accountants and bookkeepers offering income tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounting, and simple tax planning services to individuals and small businesses.
We serve more than six-hundred-and-fifty clients annually in and around the city of Edmonton. We have three seasonal employees and are open year-round to service the needs of our valued clients. We are available via email, text message, or phone call from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
We offer clients in-home visits (subject to COVID 19 restrictions), tax preparation in the vehicle in front of the client’s home, review of information, signature, and payment at the client’s door, pick-up and drop-off service, email or text of information and documentation, and/or verbal confirmation of income and deductions via phone call. We are here to help!
Founded in 2014, we have helped many clients with immediate tax issues and also helped them deal with personal and financial crises due to tax and life issues by referring them to outside agencies dealing with Consumer Proposals. We have been able to help guide clients through the process, which made the whole process easier and a lot less stressful for them.
As a business, we are typically busy during Tax season, from February 1 to April 30, while our off-season is from May 1 to September.

If the client wants in-home tax preparation (or at-the-door service), we meet with the client and can complete all the business in as little as fifteen minutes, or within the allotted forty-five minutes. If the client wants a pick-up and drop-off service, it will always be at the convenience of the client. If the client wants to send all documents via email or text, their return can be completed the same day. If the client wants a phone call or a Zoom/Skype call, we can accommodate them the same day. We are efficient and make sure to provide a quick turnaround for our busy clients. We are also punctual, prompt, accurate, dependable, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
What sets us apart from our direct competitors is that we are more adaptable and convenient for our clients. Most tax offices require their clients to visit them and sit and wait for service. We are often able to serve our clients immediately or within the same day, and book appointments at the client’s convenience. If there are changes to scheduled appointments, we can handle them with ease. Clients are always offered options for the type of service that suits them best.
As a business, we always put the client’s needs first. We focus on our client’s needs because we are always looking for ways to help. Often that leads to clients asking us for advice or help in other related areas. We go above and beyond just the basic requirement for the service the client is paying for. Sometimes this means that the support we offer is time-consuming and does not generate any additional income, but we care about our clients, and we want to help them any way we can. Our prices are designed to be lower than our natural competitors but still competitive. We do not believe in bargain-basement pricing. We are worth what we charge!
We have many types of clients; let’s break them into groups. We service the tax needs of lower and middle-income seniors, lower to middle-income families, individuals with simple tax needs, small-business owners, and couples with a bit more complex tax situations. When people are looking for someone to help them, it is because their tax situation is a bit more complex than they feel they can deal with. Knowing that we can help them with those complex issues is our motivation. Our direct competitors often cannot help those clients, because their staff are not as knowledgeable and are less experienced because of the low pay and staff turnover.
As a business, our biggest achievement is our state of growth. We started without any clients, and today we serve more than six-hundred-and-fifty clients annually. While we had to work hard to ensure annual growth, what makes us beam with pride is knowing that we were able to achieve or exceed our yearly growth targets (except for this year due to COVID-19 restrictions).
We would like to continue to grow and become more of a household name in our service area, just like some of the larger businesses in our industry. When people talk about taxes, they all mention H&R, Block, and some of the other smaller tax companies. We want to be one of the names that people mention the most when talking about tax.
While we are passionate about what we do, we also care about protecting the environment, and so we try to minimize the printing of paper. We offer clients the choice of an email PDF copy or paper copy of their return consisting of client letter, summary sheet, and invoice. We do not print full returns unless the client requests a printed copy to send it to some agency or institution.
We also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, we sponsor local children’s soccer teams and participate in the team’s silent auctions.
